PA Classics Harrisburg invites all players interested in competing at the travel level to attend our upcoming tryouts for the 2026–2027 season.

Our club provides a player-centered development environment focused on technical growth, tactical understanding, and a lifelong love of the game. We welcome both current players and players from outside the club who are interested in joining one of the top player development environments in Central Pennsylvania.

• Tryouts are an opportunity for players to demonstrate their abilities, meet our coaching staff, and experience the training environment within PA Classics Harrisburg.

• Players will be evaluated by our coaching staff based on technical ability, decision-making, athleticism, and overall fit within our teams and club culture.

Age Group Formation Change (Beginning 2026–2027 Season)

• Beginning with the 2026–2027 seasonal year, youth soccer in the United States will transition from birth-year age groups (January 1 – December 31) to a seasonal year / school-year age grouping (August 1 – July 31).
• This change was announced jointly by U.S. Youth Soccer, U.S. Club Soccer, and AYSO and will be adopted by leagues and competitions across the country starting in the Fall 2026 season.

Why the Change?

The new seasonal year structure is designed to better align youth soccer with the school calendar, allowing more players to play alongside their classmates and peers from school.

The goals of the change include:

• Better alignment between soccer teams and school grade levels
• Allowing players to play with friends and classmates
• Reducing the number of “trapped players” separated from their peer group
• Supporting long-term participation and player development in youth soccer

What This Means for Players

• Under the new structure, teams will be formed using a seasonal year cutoff of August 1 – July 31 rather than a calendar year.
• This means age groups may now include players from two calendar birth years, but they will generally be grouped with players in the same school grade.

PA Classics Harrisburg Implementation

• PA Classics Harrisburg will follow the national youth soccer guidelines and implement the seasonal year age grouping beginning with the 2026–2027 season.
• Our coaching staff will continue to place players in environments that support their development, confidence, and long-term growth within the game.

Tryout Information

• Players must register online prior to attending tryouts.
• With the exception of U18/U19 teams, each age group will have two scheduled tryout sessions, and players are encouraged to attend both sessions whenever possible to allow our staff the best opportunity to evaluate them.
• U18/19 teams will do one open session.
